As a boomer would say, this is the "artsy-fartsy stuff", or just "huh?" But NFFTY gets it! Young directors have stories to tell and unlimited ways to artistically express themselves. These films lean into the art of filmmaking and the result is a kaleidoscopic intersection of dance, experimental, music video and visual poetry. Mash me up, Scotty!

"Self-Destruct (Mumbai Mix)" is a chill-pop fusion song by Tanya Vora that incorporates elements of Western Hip-Hop/R&B with traditional Indian meter and percussion. This music video has a dark vibe, talking about "self-destructing" by putting yourself in relationships/positions that hurt you. It's generally a nice song to jam to, but carries weight in its message as well.

Mother is about my 92-year-old grandfather, who lost his mother when he was only 3-year-old. He now has Alzheimer’s and is living the last days of his life. I love and respect him very much, so I wanted to pay tribute to him by creating a film that shows his challenging yet successful life. Mother made my grandfather experience the everlasting love between him and his mother in a way he never has.
