The second annual FILM CAREER DAY offers young adults, ages 13 - 24, with an ideal opportunity to explore the possibilities for employment behind the camera or in one of hundreds of other positions that contribute to the filmmaking process. Meet local and nationally-acclaimed directors, producers and content creators who know exactly what it takes to get started in the biz – and what you’ll need to master if you want to be taken seriously.

FILM CAREER DAY presents a broad curriculum that includes topical break-out sessions, industry networking opportunities, and a keynote address from film director (and NFFTY alumni!) Rayka Zehtabchi who, in 2019, became the first Iranian-American woman to win an Academy Award for her documentary Period. End of Sentence., which she made when she was just 23 years old! Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with regional colleges and technical schools that offer film programs worth considering and meet film industry employers located right here in the Northwest.

Taking place at the Cornish Playhouse and Nesholm Family Lecture Hall, come spend the day exploring a wide range of career opportunities in the film industry.

Presented by the City of Seattle and Seattle Office of Film + Music, in partnership with the National Film Festival for Talented Youth (NFFTY) & One Reel.
