48 HR Film Off @ U.S. Open of Surfing
Congratulations to Chris Steen of Huntington Beach, California- the winner of the Nike 6.0 48 Hour Film Off at the U.S. Open of Surfing! Steen wrote, shot, and edited the winning film, Mad Wax, by himself in only 48 hours and will receive a $1,500 cash prize from Nike 6.0.
Each of the competing teams, also including Leaf Productions and Shadowman Productions, had to shoot at least one scene at the Nike 6.0 Motel No Tell in Huntington Beach. A screening of the films was held on Sunday, August 8th at the Motel No Tell. Films competed via audience voting and jury scoring. Members of the jury included Antonio Ballatore, HGTV’s Design Star Season 4 winner and designer of the Nike 6.0 Motel No Tell, Joshua Pomer, producer of Newport Beach Film Festival selected surf film, The Westsiders, and other NFFTY and Nike 6.0 representatives.
